Bar hosts scholarship fundraiser
CLINTON Telegram -- The new Spillway bar on High Street is hosting a raffle fundraiser for a scholarship in memory of David Kinosian, a friend of owner Seth Salwa who died unexpectedly seven years ago because of complications of diabetes.
Eastern Boarder of Leominster and K2 Snowboards have donated a K2 Anagram snowboard with K2 Sonic bindings; a value of $400, according to Mr. Salwa’s wife, Kerrie Carnes Salwa, co-owner of the bar. A second raffle prize of two lift tickets to Sunday River Ski Resort in Bethel, Maine, was added by the staff at the ski resort.
Raffle tickets cost $5 each; or three for $10. They are available at The Spillway, 212 High St., which is open seven days a week.
The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the bar.
Proceeds will go to the David Kinosian Scholarship Fund, for a scholarship to Suffolk University Sawyer Business School. David, who loved to skateboard and snowboard, was a junior there when he died.
