OLD PHOTO OF THE DAY
Eric Kovall AKA Man Child ripping the old Nashoba Valley 1/2 pipe sometime around the early 90's. He's riding a modified Barfoot Jon Boyer with a giant Pepsi sticker that he had peeled off the side of a machine to cover the topsheet. That's Eric with Lex at Romes movie premiere sipping suds. Kovall is one of a kind, been down with EB since day one and has been featured in many mags over the years. He's still out there skating a lot and has revived ASS Industries in the last few years. BMX ART
THINK SNOW?
2010 snowboards from LIB, GNU, and ROXY have already hit the shops. Don't sleep on getting the board you want this winter because for the last three years people finally understood the "magnatraction" technology. LIB went BANANAS and sold out FAST. More boards will be shipping shortly so if this is your thing get crackin'.
OLD PHOTOS OF THE DAY
Todays OPOTD shots I took in Ayer of Peston Maigetter ( mid 90's? ) at the old 9 Victor mini ramp. Preston IS skateboarding pure and simple. Anyone who thinks differently just has no idea what skateboarding is as far as I'm concerned. Prestons been filming for Thrasher for years. Skateboarding and filming has taken him all over the world and back a number of times. His own older films like Justice still hold it down. Here are a few examples of his later productions too...If you think way back he and Chris "Rhino" Rooney, and John " Bacon" Hobbs used to run the Spike and Mike Sick and Twisted Film Festivals around Boston which were a riot. Rhino also lurks and works for Thrasher and KILLS pools.

That's old EB head Joel Oreste on the deck there. The ramp was in Ayer for a while and then moved off to Fitchburg at 2z's house where it was skated for years before giving into mother natures take back program. The house was home to a bunch of old skate heads like VT Talents Dave Wood, Transworlds Joel Muzzey, James and countless couch surfers.

OLD PHOTO OF THE DAY
I have been gathering up and downloading a bunch of old pictures that I ( Bub ) have taken over the last 30 years or so, and will be posting them here in the blog on the days I'm working. Maybe it should be called "old photo of every other day" ...or something. Either way this is a shot taken of an old friend named Dave Miller. Dave was from Acton and this shot was taken at "the Pit" in Stow where I used to live. If I remember right , it's a 26" Mongoose cruiser. The shots from Oct 1983....almost 26 years ago now......and yes Tabor, the jump had a name. He's laughing as he reads this....The King Burrito aka KB. When Taco Bell was only on the West coast it was somewhere we wanted to go and eat. Now that it's here too I wish it stayed on the West coast. Somehow the jump was named after a burrito. I didn't name it, but it was a booter for it's time.
follow up to fitch grill and chill
The day started out with dark clouds and scattered showers, a humid, sticky, typical New England summer day. The kick off began around 3 with meat sticks being cooked and water to wash them down....Fitchburg loves the meat sticks, went through about 150 dogs in under an hour.
Three parts of the park were chosen for the contest. First being the hip, second being the bank to ledge and last of all the spine/drop to flat.
Locals ripping and non locals ripping, Prizes went out to Josh lambert, Tim Lafortune, Luke Macfee, Bobby Hommel and Chad Stevenson
