WEDNESDAY AT THE SHOP

LEOM SESSION

Today was fairly uneventful as far as staying busy went here in the shop, but it was one of the best days we have seen in a long time when it comes to the locals showing up and killing some time here skating together. The crew in the slideshow above has been rolling together for many years. School and getting older tends to split up good groups like this, so having them all here together for a while was nice to see.

Josh rolled through the shop today telling us that the bands hitting the road March 9th going to the UK, Japan, and Australia and then coming home for the Warped Tour in July. Hit up their Myspace page to hear some of their tunes and see what their up to. He's been stepping up from playing keyboard and singing a bit now too. Catch them when they come back home.

Oh and just for fun here is what Wikipedia has to say about Alien Workshop

Alien Workshop
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Alien Workshop, (sometimes referred to as AWS) is a skateboard company founded in 1990 by Mike Hill and Chris Carter. It is based in Dayton, Ohio, a departure from the Californian-centric based skateboard industry. It produces decks, wheels, apparel and other skateboard accessories. Alien Workshop is known for its artistic graphical style with themes of paranoia and futurism often used.
Alien Workshop is owned and distributed by DNA Distribution, which also owns Habitat Skateboards and Reflex Bearings.
Alien Workshop has taken the stance of pro-domestic skateboard manufacturing, opting to get their boards manufactured in the USA and Canada instead of overseas.[1]
On March 9, 2007, Alien Workshop started a new website AWS Filmworks to document its up coming video.
DNA Distribution was bought by Burton Snowboards on February 5th, 2008.[2]

TIM LAFORTUNE

Leominster EB shop team check out.

Tim's been around these parts for a long time now and always represents. He'll skate street, transition... whatever as long as he gets to skate. Here are shots from Keena of Tim in Portland, Littleton, Connecticut, and around town. Personally the roof gap to knee wrecker and face plant is my favorite shot. At least if you're going to do something nuts have a camera around. Well done.

DAN CARREIRO IN NM

I just talked to a very happy Dan Carreiro who skated in the All Nations Skate Jam down in NM. According to the Vans site Cardiel, Ray Barbie and Tony Alva were supposed to be hanging there too. Dan said he took 1st in the street event and 1st in the vert bowl event in a 6'8'12' pool. Congrats Dan. See you when you get home. I'll try and find some pics to post as the event is updated on the sponsors web sites.
