CRY NO MORE ...STOWE VT TODAY

Figured I'd share this email I just got. The pow shots on the bottom were taken today up there. Cavans pic from the chair still shows it's good too.

Hey Bub, just wanted to drop you a line and let you and your shop know that we got a ton of snow yesterday and last night up here on the mountain at Stowe. We got a bunch of rain on Monday but it switched over mid day on Tuesday and then snowed all the way through. A bunch of us went up this am to check the mountain out expecting the worst and we ended up riding probably the best snow of the year so far. I know it’s a bit longer drive for people down in Mass but trust me it is worth it, so much fun shit here and it looks like it’s gonna snow off an on for a while now. Get up here....or don’t. Sorry for the lack of photos I was riding. This email is aimed directly at you Koval...(I don’t have his email so it kind isn’t but you get my drift)
Talk to you soon,
Cavan

EB GINGER FORCE

EB team shreds Pat Moore, Colleen Quigley and Chris Carr have been laying low for a bit. Chris just made it to Utah and is now getting ready to get back out there after a brief encounter with a sticky ledge back in NH. Colleens couching it with a bruised foot and Pat is still nursing a shoulder tweak. Seems like it's been a rough winter so far for a bunch of riders. It's early though. The snow was just measured in feet out West this past week, and the forcast for New England is back to cold temps and snow on the way up in the mountains. Good luck getting back in the boots gingers.

ONE FOR THE MANTLE

Todays bonus for Bub. Burtons original Craig Kelly Pro model..it's going to look nice on my wall. Still in excellent condition and it's got a beat up pair of Air bindings for it too. The customer got it pretty much free in a yard sale and was going to ride it but traded out a board I had instead. Boards like this usually only mean something to someone that rode one. Although I never had this particular board myself, Craig was my snowboarding hero and after his passing Jan 20, 2003 in a massive avalanche in BC it only meant that much more to get my hands on one.

DANNY DAVIS HURT

American halfpipe snowboarder Danny Davis has been admitted to a Utah hospital to be treated for a back injury sustained Sunday in an accident.
Davis, who won the U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain in California following a run widely considered the best ever in the halfpipe discipline, was not snowboarding at the time he was hurt.( According to another source was four wheeling at the Mountain Lab )
The management company representing Davis confirmed his injury in a Tweet. It was not immediately clear if Davis will no longer be able to compete at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
Reports suggest Davis' back is broken.
On Saturday Davis won the men's superpipe competition at the Dew Tour's stop in Snowbasin, Utah.
At Mammoth earlier this month, the 21-year-old Michigan-native beat out 11 competitors, including phenom Shaun White, with a double cork, followed with a Cab 900, a crail, another double cork, and a final spin.
Davis performed the double cork again on Saturday, winning the men's superpipe competition at the Dew Tour's stop in Snowbasin, Utah.
White riled competitors at the beginning of the season with his debut of the double cork at an event in Cardrona, New Zealand.
American rider Kevin Pearce was injured in December while training. Reports suggest Pearce had been attempted a double cork, but fumbled the landing. Pearce remains in hospital with a serious head injury.

Above story taken from here.

I caught Burtons Global TM Adam Moran on FB real quick today and he had this to say "he'll be okay and have a full recovery. just a freak accident that got him pretty injured. rough year though."

Best wishes to Danny from the EB crew.

MINIMANCATION

Wed was Loon, Thurs Waterville..and a morning sesh Friday at Wateville too...ahh finally. Minication was pretty fun. Loon and Waterville are pushing their main parks as we speak and from what we saw they will be raging soon. It was cool to bump into some of the guys at both for a few laps. Our crew caught up with Jacques, Dre, and Shane at WV ...Dre got a mini ramp session in under "Buckets." Luke had rebuilt the mini and it's yours to poach with the park $99 pass too...bonus. A quick bite and brew at TBars never hurts either.

OAKLEY SUB ARCTIC CHALLENGE

Oakley had it's end of the day Chinese Downhill at Loon on Brookway where skiers and riders raced to the hot tubs kicked off their boards and ran to the waiting ice cold pounders. Kovall "ASS man" was on fire but couldn't pound. Oakley Mark was left checking his pulse while Vedo went chug for chug but came up a few suds short of the big win. Pretty funny stuff and a great day with a lot of great people..thanks Oakley and Loon.
