I snapped these old race shots from Nashoba Valley sometime around 1986? The only guys I remember are the ones in the gate, and they should be Peter Walthers and Joe White ready to drop. Other than that, there are a couple OG women rippers and a flannel guy riding the old Koflach mountaineering plate boots. Nashoba hosted some very early snowboarding events in New England and continues to be a great supporter of the snowboarding community with lessons, events, a nice little park and of course the Outlook bar.

Bunches of new EB shrts, restock of Girl, Creature, Real, and Anti Hero decks, NH LFOD represent, LOTEK sale shoes $29.99, Vans, and more...

Spada and I hit the old fishin' hole last night and landed a few bass, pickerel, crappie, and yellow perch the size of the bait.

These shots were taken at the long gone "turtles" playground back in 86. I didn't post them to show how great the skating action was in the pics for obvious reasons, but to show how sick this place was for skating a spot never meant for it. Empty kiddie pools, banks everywhere, ledges, and all sorts of skate worthy obstacles were in that park. I forget when it was finally plowed but it was a Boston landmark for sure as a skate spot. In the pics are Acton, Boxboro guys Greg Tallone, Dave Mills, Brooke Pitcher, and Ross Freeman.

Carreiro doing his thing.

Took the family up near Waterville Valley this week to play in the Pemi and made a little fire so the kids could roast marshmallows. After singing all the hair off my hands and legs trying to make smores for the kids, I remembered the other kind of "face melting" starts up again in the mountains in about three months. Speed runs to the parks and burning feet from being out of our boots for a while are just around the corner. Which brings up other things.... Are you buying a season pass somewhere? GET IT NOW..you'll save a load of money if you get it before things cool down. Need equipment? On a budget? EB's Annual TENT SALE is hitting the Leominster shop again on Labor Day weekend for four days. Sept 4th - 7th we'll have all five stores worth of leftover boards, boots, bindings, jackets, pants and all the fixin's to go with it at blowout pricing! If you're looking for 2010 boards and gear a lot of it's already here so come take a look. Don't snooze on saving money or miss grabbing the latest and greatest most talked about whips available for this coming winter! You snooze you lose.

Recent drops...Real, Anti Hero, Rome, Burton, Altamont, Spitfire, Lakai, DVS, Vans, backpacks and all sorts of back to school t-s and gear...come on in and check it.

New EB t-s are dumping in. Massholes unite! Shattered Dot t-s are only $9.99 in tons of colors! 20 Years Of Terror long sleeves, Bomber pocket t-s and more.

EB would like to THANK YOU ALL for 20 years of support !

Here are a couple random shots I took of Chas Guldemond at Mammoth this Spring. He banked a poopload of money this past winter... perhaps his skating has something to do with making his snowboarding so damn solid. Sitting behind him are Brandon Reis, Ian Thorley, and Chris Carr.

New England rulers..Chuck, Tanner and Colin Langlois.

I took this shot in Maximus of Kevin Day around 1988-90 I think. Kevin is one of the true skate pioneers of New England. He's been skating much longer than anyone reading this has probably been alive. ( since 1976 ) Part of the reason he's been able to skate for so many years was due to his own creation of custom made pads. "Pain Cheaters" Are as burly as they come. All you had to do was give him your measurements and he sewed them up for you with custom colors too. The other shot was from 1986 in the infamous C-Bowl across the street from Maximus in Cambridge. I had never really skated it but heard about it for a long time ..when we rolled in there I was blown away by the session that was going down. Forgive me if names are forgotten or blown, but I believe Frank Lannon, "Onion Head or Glue head? ", Sean Mclean? Kevin, and a couple others were there that day. I had no idea who they were being younger and from out of town, but the photos I shot that day are some of my favorite most prized old shots I have ever taken. It was really a wake up call to me as to just how punk rock and insane skating is. The stoke and vibe in that bowl was purely electric. It was so long before anyone gave a rats ass about skating besides the handful of skaters that everyone misunderstood and despised, that makes it so memorable. Skating is still as raw and gnarly as ever, but it's so disguised by the fashion show, ads, and mainstream media circus now that it'll never have the same feel. You just had to be there to understand what I'm saying. Kevin Day...amazing.....TOTAL respect. Bub

"Inviting you and the EB crew to the wicked mellow reception for my wall garbage at Otherside in Boston this Wednesday night. Obviously it's not about the art, it's about the beer and '50s style chicks that frequent the place. It'd be sick if anyone of the EB shred heads could make it, since so much of my creations is inspired by shredding, and beer. Rome bros and Concepts bros should be there to, hopefully."
Rock and roll,

Nick Francke sent over a few pics of what he's been up to....I'd call this the "must be nice air". Must be nice to have that sort of backdrop for your everyday shred session. Don't let the scenery fool you though Nicks still a dirty NH boy at heart. Click the pics to enlarge them.
