VANS MINI CUP COMING TO LOON MOUNTAIN JANUARY 10
All the Details on the Second Mini Cup Stop Including Where to

Cypress, CA (December 31, 2008) – Join Vans and Eastern Boarder
Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire for the
second stop of the Vans Mini Cup, a new series of three rail jams
going down around the country this winter. The event kicks off at
11:00 am and will feature an open jam session, narrowing down to a
10-man final judged by Vans Snow team riders Darrell Mathes and
Scotty Arnold along with team manager Doran Laybourn. The winner
will score an all-expense-paid trip to the Vans Cup at Mammoth and a
slot in the event’s invite-only rail jam. Cash prizes of $500, $300
and $150 will also be handed out to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both
the men's and women's 16 and over divisions.
The Mini Cup stop at Loon Mountain will also serve as a qualifier
into the 2009 Great Northwest Gromfest being held July 12 to 16 at
Whistler, B.C. Riders under the age of 16 will have a chance to
compete for two qualifying slots into the event as well as Vans snow
gear, shoes and other cool prize packs!
Riders that would like to participate in the Mini Cup can register at
Loon Mountain the morning of the event from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

The Mini Cup stop at Loon Mountain, presented by Eastern Boarder
follows a rail jam presented by Satellite Boardshop earlier this
month at Winter Park Resort in Colorado. The final Mini Cup stop
will be presented by Leroys Boardshop and One Way Boardshop on
February 7 at California's Bear Mountain. (Please note that the date
has moved up one week).

About the Vans Cup:
Widely regarded as the West Coast’s most important professional
snowboarding competition, The 5th Annual Vans Cup will be held at
Mammoth Mountain February 27 through March 1, with nearly $200,000 up
for grabs. The weekend kicks off with an invitational rail jam
Friday night, where top riders throw down their best tricks for a
chance at the coveted Vans Cup and a huge cash prize. The action
continues Saturday with a Slopestyle comp and the Vans Cup caps off
Sunday with the Superpipe finals.

Ladies...if you haven't done it yet, have a look at the all womens shred camp at Waterville asap on the Waterville Valley site. You don't have to be amazing to have a great time, and if you are amazing then go rip it up with some of the raddest women riders for a day or two. Personal coaching for a couple days by Hana Beaman! Seriously..have you seen her ride in person? Well don't just watch her and others on tv..ride with them. Check it out and get your butt off to the "Ladies Room".

The Winter Dew Tour hits Mount Snow VT Jan 8-11th and you should be there. This is the biggest Pro shred event on the East next to the US Open. Mount Snow has also been cranking out their new Carinthia park to get it ready, so if you're VT bound check it out.

Watchusett Mountain is already looking really good out there for this early in the season. Here's a look at some of their plans for events there this year for all you contest shreds. Join EB out on the snow during their event on Jan 17th. Details will follow, but it looks like their cooking up something cool with a special guest rider... keep looking for further postings as the event comes together. The Annual Ryan Joubert Slopestyle will be happening on Sat Feb 7th with EB too. Make sure to keep these dates on your calendar. As always check ahead for any date changes and updates. The brainchild of Waterville Valley team rider, Colleen Quigley, The Ladies Room is an all girls snowboard camp for ages 8+. This unique camp features coaching from top female professional snowboarders, that include Hana Beaman, Jacqui Berg, Desiree Melancon, Iris Lazz and a special guest to be named later. The Ladies Room will cater to all levels of female snowboarders with a focus on terrain park riding. Whether you are learning how to approach a double barrel rail or dialing a frontside 180 off a medium-sized tabletop jump, The Ladies Room will teach you all you need to know.
The two-day price will be $235 and includes all day coaching, breakfast, lunch, prize packs and giveaways from sponsors: Burton Snowboards, Eastern Boarder, Nikita, Snowboarder Mag, Oakley, Dakine, Red Bull, Air Blaster, A.S.S Industries and Zinka .
